The workload is largely governed by the Exhibition Seasons, having peak busy times from March to November. Perfect for those holding both Study and Work visas.
Where will I work?
Most shifts are at GCCEC and BCEC, with other venues across SEQ (e.g. Sea World, Royal Pines, and event sites).

How will I receive jobs?
All job requests are sent via WhatsApp. You can accept or decline each job request — reliability matters, so only accept what you can commit to.
Do I need any qualifications?
Not always. Many shifts are general event labour.
If you have tickets/licences (Forklift, EWP/Scissor, Working at Heights, White Card, etc.), include them — it helps us place you on higher-skill shifts.
What documents do I need to provide?
To activate your subcontractor profile, upload:
• Passport ID page (for VEVO/right-to-work verification where applicable)
• Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency
• Any relevant tickets/licences you select
Do you take PAYG / employee workers?
No — OKKA Hire engages ABN subcontractors only.
Safety matters — we need to know you’re covered and job-ready.
What Language do I need?
English.
You’ll be briefed by a Project Manager and must communicate clearly for safety and coordination.
What should I bring/wear?
Closed-toe work shoes/boots, basic PPE if you have it, and be ready for physical work. The WhatsApp message will specify anything extra.
What happens after I take the Cultural Test?
We’ll review your details, confirm documents, book you in for a quick Zoom and then you’ll be added to the active crew list. After that you’ll start receiving job requests.
Do you pay super/ is this employee work?
If you’re onboarding as a subcontractor, you’re responsible for your own tax and insurances.
